Senior Systems Engineer (Radio Networks) for this leading prime defence contractor and complex systems integrator working in partnership with the UK's Ministry of Defence (MoD) to provide systems engineering support, in the area of Tactical C4I System radio networks and products.
Under the guidance of the engineering lead, assist with one or more of the following activities: User requirement specification; System requirement specification; System design specification; Subsystem specification; Procurement specification, including negotiation with contractors; System test planning, design & execution; System acceptance; Systems engineering support; Engineering reviews. To provide technical leadership in the area of radio networks/products in HF/VHF/UHF bands, supporting voice and data transmission. To keep abreast of technology developments in the area of radio networks/products.
You will be degree qualified with a background in systems/software development in the Defence Communication and Information Systems/Tactical C4I Systems arena, including Internet Protocol (IP) based wide area networks. Comprehensive knowledge/understanding of radio networks and products as applicable to Tactical C4I Systems Architecture. Good understanding and experience of systems engineering process, including requirements management, systems analysis/design, system integration and test. Using tools/methodologies, including RTM (ideally DOORS), MODAF/UML/ARTISAN desirable, ability to think at the systems level.
