Antenna Technician - The purpose of the role is to increase the existing capacity the team has providing Antenna related solutions for our customers. This role is defined as one of the more junior roles within a wide range on incumbents. The specific abilities and experience of the individual will be taken into account by the team and used to best effect where ever possible.

This role is based in the Bristol area

The duties of the Antenna Technician are to assist in the prosecution of various RF and Antenna R&D projects both customer and company funded. Work is likely to include: Assist in the development and installation of Antennas and Radio Frequency subsystems designed to work in the HF, VHF and UHF bands; To measure and document antenna performance using indoor and outdoor test facilities; To produce prototypes and build low volume production antennas and associated RF hardware as required; Utilise various PC based design and documatation tools, including CAD tools, to aid in the design and development processes; The preparation of documentation, including technical reports and test specifications. He/she will be responsible to the R&D Team Leader but will be required to interface daily with other engineers and project staff.

Skills & Experience Have previous experience, or a keen interest in Radio technology.Can demonstrate an ability to make mechanical and electronic, prototypes and models. Will be proficient with light duty workshop tools. Be prepared to work in a variety of environments, including a garage and outdoor test range,Recent experience of working on motor vehicles, especially ralating to ICE/Electrics would be useful.Be a communicator: Have good interpersonal skills & have a acceptable standard of English, both written and oral.

Qualifications, Education The successful candidate will most likely have achieved some revelant Science or Engineering based qualifications. Recent and relevant education or vocational skills training in a RF or communications related subject would be a great asset.

Some UK travel will be necessary from time to time. The successful applicant will be required to either have or obtain UK SC security clearance. Employment in the post is ultimately dependent on the required clearance being achieved.
