Interim Project Manager - Responsible for delivering projects (products/services) to meet the business requirements, specifically Specification/Quality, Time & Cost (Product & Project).

Principal Accountabilities Planning - Working with Group account manager, Chief technical engineer, Commercial Analyst and Head of Engineering to support new business negotiations with first-cut estimates and advice. Work with customer, Group account manager and Chief technical Engineer to ensure user's requirements is clearly understood and agreed. Once a project has been approved for planning, responsible for delivery of product and supporting documentation (cost plan, project plan, risk log, product requirements specification). This will include more accurate product cost forecast and a refinement of the original business case for the project based on the planning work. Negotiations with suppliers and 3rd parties to ensure that they can support the plan (e.g., software vendors and CA approvals houses). Negotiation with resource pool and technical services to ensure that the plan to be presented for approval for development is fully resourced. Prepare all documentation, including SoW's for the use of ODM involvement, with assistance from the ODM Group. Presentation of the project for approval for development to the Customer account team.

Drive continuous cost reduction and development efficiency activities, continually searching for potential upside opportunities in schedule, product cost, product margin, product quality, product reliability, and project cost. After launch, co-ordinate assessment, diagnosis and resolution of any issues/problems that may arise in line with the commercial commitment, and ensure that the customer is satisfied with the product. Support life cycle revenue & margin through new feature developments. Monitoring & Control - Develop, monitoring and distribute of project specific plans, capturing and reporting progress against Project Plans utilising project-based planning tools. Work in partnership with other functions in the wider team to secure necessary cross-functional input to projects and to secure necessary core technology, design and test inputs, ensuring that all milestones on the plan are achieved. Work with Operations and Technical Services to ensure that volume manufacture starts smoothly and on time. Establish and monitor groups development targets and schedules to ensure timely completion within budget and to the required quality, continually questioning, challenging and checking of progress on tasks being performed by the team, by other teams and by third parties. Develop, manage, and report progress against departmental objectives as appropriate, with regular reporting of project progress "actuals" against forecast and original plan for all business metrics, including schedule; milestones; product cost; project cost and estimate to completion etc. Collation and preparation of required documentation for each gate in the Pace development process to progress the project through the Design Verification, Pre Production. Production and Shipping stages. Project Management Plan, Stage Management, Project Reporting, Gantt charts, Project Cost Accounting to support the above tasks. Stakeholder Management - Manage stakeholder to ensure project meets business requirements and business aware of project status. Manage customer & supplier relationships (in partnership with the Pace Commercial Account Manager where external customer involved) to understand customer requirements and ensure customer satisfaction. Communications & Project Networking to support the other aspects of this role. Managing Stakeholders, Suppliers (Internal/External), Customers (Internal/External) to support the other aspects of this roleManagement of Risk. Triage or risks & issues and contingency/mitigation/resolution planning. Continual monitoring, management and mitigation of existing and new risks throughout the project. Communication and escalation where necessary and appropriate. HR Management - Responsible for the tasking of allocated resource in line with project requirements and priorities. Responsible allocation and prioritisation of resource in line with project requirements and priorities, including recruitment when agreed with the CAT Head of Engineering. Provision of overall leadership, direction and motivation for staff under his/her control. Ensuring that key skills and abilities are developed and deployed within the team, via communication, coaching, mentoring and performance assessment. Work with the Project Management Strategist to support the coaching and mentoring other Project Managers & Project co-ordinators with a view to improving the project management discipline with Pace and, where appropriate, developing Project Co-ordinators and other appropriate personnel into Project Manager roles. Project Organisation, Communications, Motivational Management & Resource Planning to support the other aspects of this role. Quality Management - Instigate process and procedures in line with company quality initiatives and internally set requirements. Employ continuous improvement, and drive institutionalisation of disciplines, process & tools aimed at improving the way that Pace manages projects and its business overall. Be familiar with the Company's chosen documentation system (e.g. PDM). Requirements, process & standards compliance to support the other aspects of this roleThe Project Manager owns the content and the accuracy of the information (project plans, reviews, review of the reports & associated signoffs, including ensuring associated actions are addressed accordingly). The Project Co-ordinator owns the accuracy of the documentation based on the information supplied

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Essential - Successful track record of managing High Technology New Product Development Projects from concept to manufacturing, including customer facing experience. Effective Management of large teams (e.g. >20 people) in a combined project and matrix management environment. Experience of planning and executing complex New Product Development Projects with Multi-Disciplinary Teams, including work breakdown structures. Experience of stakeholder management (including customer management) and the line management of Engineering teams with proven ability to lead and direct team through the extensive use of training, motivation, and development techniques. Strong negotiating skills including schedule negotiation with commercial teams, third parties and customers. Experience of project based financial management, cost estimation/control and risk identification, triage, assessment and management. Thorough understanding of the needs of "development to manufacture", preferably in high volume production environment, in order to maximise speed to market. Ability to launch products into volume manufacture. Good interpersonal, communication, presentation and reporting skills, including report writing, organising/chairing meetings. Business awareness - sensitivity to product, project and corporate profitability. Desirable - Formal project management qualification preferred (Prince2 Practiioner, PMP etc). Degree in an Science, Engineering, Computer Science or Technology discipline preferred. Experience of Consumer Electronics, Telecoms, Automotive, or Aerospace Industries. Understanding of both Hardware and Software development disciplines with knowledge of CAD environments for both Electronic and Mechanical hardware. Understanding and marking up contracts, statement of work, request for quotations. Grasp of statistics (field failure rate, quality, mean time between failures etc)v Market awareness - understanding of what is strategic and what is not.
