To lead product development projects from kick-off through to production launch, acting as the primary customer interface and facilitating the activities of divisions. Understand and monitor the project teams ability to successfully deliver projects, ensuring recovery plans are developed where failure to deliver is anticipated. Understand and monitor the project scope and deliverables ensuring uncontrolled creep does not occur.

Requirements
To lead product development projects ensuring compliance with the requirements of corporate and divisional Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines, and any other additional procedures/activities. Confirm that appropriate commercial agreements are in place and that they correspond with the anticipated project scope. Develop a top-level MS Project plan for project activities required to achieve project deadlines and coordinate the business resources. Confirm an experienced project team has been allocated and motivate to achieve overall programme needs. Maintain the plan as a reflection of current project status. Ensure that any changes to product specification, project scope or deliverables are identified and considered for their commercial implications. Where project progress does not meet agreed timing, to develop recovery plans. Organise, chair and minute project review and Design Review meetings. Ensure that valid phase sign-offs are achieved. Produce monthly Project Progress Reports and report project progress at monthly meetings. Liaise closely with the relevant Commercial Manager and to attend client meetings and presentations.

Further information
Degree qualified or equivalent (e.g. HNC plus experience) - technical discipline preferred. Ideally with a project management qualification – PMBOK/PRINCE/PMP etc. Comprehensive experience of project management: Scope management, Time management, Cost management, Quality Management, HR Management, Communications Management, Risk Management, Procurement Management. Experience of project management within a product development environment. Technical background. Previous experience of medical devices. Previous experience working in pharmaceuticals industry. Customer-facing project management. Highly experienced MS Project user. Highly computer literate – Excel/Word/Office. Self-motivated and able to work alone. Experience of quality management systems. High level of personal organisation. High ability in personal time management. Highly logical thinking and problem solving. Ability to summarise and consolidate effectively. Good spelling and grammar. Team worker. Flexible attitude. Excellent communication skills at all levels. Attention to detail. Assertive. Flexibility in hours and willing to travel including abroad.
